Preface. On July 26, 2006, after Wednesday night prayer and ending a seven-day fast, I drove over to my friends’ apartment, Chris and Lindsay Murphy’s home. I went over there to talk to them about my recent separation from the girl I loved. She broke up with me on July 17, and I wanted to hear their perspective and spiritual advice. The evening went well and as I was leaving, Chris said to me, “Because you are a Christian and becoming a pastor, you live in a glass house.” That really spoke to me. I had heard that expression before, but now it really meant something to me. I meditated on that idea all week. The following Saturday night I went out with some friends. I returned home late and went to bed at approximately 2:30 AM on July 30. I didn’t know that I was about to have my first impacting spiritual dream.
My Dream. The dream started with me standing inside a huge glass house while looking up. This house was enormous and larger than any house or barn I had ever seen. While standing at one end, I looked down towards the opposite end and I could see a numerable amount of people talking amongst themselves. For some reason, I knew there was exactly 300 people altogether and not one person was talking with me. I didn’t think anything of it and I didn’t know any of them. I turned around to see what was behind me, and I noticed I stood in the doorway at one end of the house. As I looked out the door, I saw these ominous black clouds looming and circulating around my glass house. The black clouds were wavy and thick. They were deep black and appeared like snakes slithering in the air and on the ground. They were so close, that I could have reached out and touched them. But I didn’t. I couldn’t see through the clouds themselves. The clouds surrounded my house from the ground to the sky. As I looked at these clouds, I could periodically see breaks in them. When I looked through the breaks, I could see beautifully lush, bright green grass. The kind of grass that anyone would love to just sit or lay down in. That’s when all the sudden the black clouds starting spinning around my glass house. They whirled around like a tornado with increasing speed. The speed in which the clouds circulated started to cause my glass house to dismantle. When that started happening, all the people inside my glass house hurried out the door at the other end and I just stood there. In all this fury and destruction, fear never overcame me. Also, in the midst of the destruction, as the debris was circulating, none of it struck me. I couldn’t even feel the wind. I just watched as my house was being destroyed. Then suddenly from above my house, a bright light broke through the dark spinning clouds. The light shined right down on top of me. The light was beautiful, radiant, and calming. (Not like the sun). The light was brighter, but it didn’t hurt my eyes to stare into it. Also, from where the light originated, I could not see a source. Not a round sphere or any orb. Nothing. As I looked into this light, I could feel peace and protection. As I started feeling the calming of the light, I awoke from my dream.
Details. The colors of the clouds and grass were so vivid. The clouds and glass house were very distinct in shape and texture. The people were all wearing the same clothes. No one looked any different than the other. I had never had a dream that seem so real. Not to mention, the dream has never escaped my memory. I still remember every little detail.
Yours regardless
